Hmmm... a little googling on bofh etherkiller turned up:

It would be more effective if the blue CAT5 cable were longer. That way, an unsuspecting victim wouldn't see the suspicious black tape and power cord unless he followed the blue cable around the corner and through the drywall in to the secret lair of the evil IT dude.

Don't let any Japanese QC folks see this. They'll add this test to their already annoying checklist of extremely unlikely faults that a system must survive.
