Went over to Home Despot this weekend and picked up several trays of iceplant to put in the sidewalk strip in front of Maine Coon Manor. The soil in Sunnyvale has a very high clay content, and there are lots of rocks in there if you dig down about six inches. I’d been hoping to turn over more of the soil there, but it just wasn’t practical. We dumped on a bunch of soil conditioner, stuck the iceplant in the first four inches of soil, watered, and covered it in bark mulch. Now we’ll have to see if we’ve given the iceplant enough wherewithal to outcompete any weed seeds that blow in...
