Maybe some people will take global warming seriously if they see dire warnings in Fortune magazine? Might the threat of seeing the East Coast looking like Siberia catch their attention?

heheh. Last year, we got hit by a storm that was so bad the city was shut down. I had to work that night and there was no way in hell I was going to drive.

So I grabbed every bit of gear that the Marine Corps gave me to keep warm and walked to work. Uphill. In the snow. So now I can legitimately use that against any children I might have.

Was reading in my astronomy textbook yesterday. They think the lovely climate of venus, clouds composed of sulfuric acid and such, is a result of a runaway greenhouse effect...something to think about...

It looks like it won’t get that bad, but that doesn’t mean it won’t get very bad indeed for a very long time (on the human scale)...
