Art Deco giant robots! Woohoo!

I’m enjoying the show Big O on Cartoon Network. It’s not quite Giant Robo— they do need to arrange the plot to trot out a giant robot for a fight at least once in every half hour episode— but the overall plot threading through the episodes really pulled me in toward the end of the first season (13 episodes). They’re showing both seasons, one episode per weeknight, on Cartoon Network these days, and it’s worth TiVo’ing. The voice acting on the dubs is surprisingly good, and I’m quite curious to hear how it compares to the original Japanese. It’s also unusual to see an anime where the main character is drawn like he’s escaped adolescence.

Actually, I have heard that Big O was dropped in Japan, but it was so popular on Cartoon Network, that it is now being made for Cartoon Network...

Just spreading the gossip as I haven't bothered to look into it...
