Here’s a lovely form of protest: washing the flag.

Was it Josh that washed other cats when they weren't up to his level of cleanliness, or am I thinking of another cat? The juxtaposition of the title and the Maine Coon cat picture brought to mind the image of a giant cat tsk'ing to itself and methodically scraping the entirety of a flag held under its forepaws.

Cats have to lick their rears, and that's bad enough. There's some things even a cat won't lick...
Perhaps subjecting the politicians to the kind of washing needed to get barnacles off ship hulls might do...

This is such a good idea. Reclaiming the flag for
all Americans is important. I think this would be
most effective performed with ritual respect and
concern. I looked at the Flag Code to see if there
were any rules about washing the flag, but nothing
was mentioned one way or another. In any case,
washing wasn't prohibited.

However, the Flag Code's provisions seem to be written
from the perspective that the flag would never, ever
get soiled. That's a little close to the mindset that
couldn't imagine the possibility of anyting going wrong when
invading another country...
