most effective performed with ritual respect and
concern. I looked at the Flag Code to see if there
were any rules about washing the flag, but nothing
was mentioned one way or another. In any case,
washing wasn't prohibited.
However, the Flag Code's provisions seem to be written
from the perspective that the flag would never, ever
get soiled. That's a little close to the mindset that
couldn't imagine the possibility of anyting going wrong when
invading another country...
