For months, I’ve been describing The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as the best political reporting on United States television, mostly as a humorous dig at the members of the Fourth Estate who are failing in their duty to inform the American public. Apparently I wasn’t joking.

Thank god for it. More people are willing to listen to the comedian than the pundit. Behind the laughs is serious commentary--- Mark Twain would be proud.

There was a great article on the AP yesterday, as well. Apparently, when Stewart went on the O'Riley Factor, O'Riley referred to the Daily Show audience as "stoned slackers." Comedy Central got annoyed and had Neilson do a poll. Turns out that Daily Show audiences are far more likely to have 4 year college degrees than O'Riley Factor audiences.

For those amused by this, O'Riley will be on the Daily Show on October 7th.
